Youngest Hawthorne
wanted scrambled eggs and sausage
for breakfast the other day,
"with lots of gooey cheese."
And that's exactly what he got.
He likes the sausage in with the scrambled eggs
so I cooked the sausage first.
Stirred up a couple of eggs with
salt and pepper and a little heavy cream.
Then poured the egg mixture
into the sausage.
Cooked over very low heat
until the cheese was melted.
Served on top of buttered toast.
Youngest Hawthorne gave this a thumbs up.
For the other two Hawthorne boys,
I made another
egg foo yung, with
chopped peppers and bacon inside
and sliced green onions on top.
A side of hash browns and onions
with a chicken stock gravy completed the dish.
And that sweet and sour chicken stock
really complements the egg dish.
I could eat eggs for breakfast every day - in fact, I do eat eggs for breakfast most days!
