The Hawthornes made it to Gold Beach, Oregon.
We have an ocean front hotel room
and I'm anticipating a lovely sunset over the Pacific -
the matching bookend to my sunrise over the Atlantic.
Time for an early dinner.
I had just appetizers.
Spinach salad with red onions, chopped eggs, and bacon
with a house dressing.
Chowder with a hint of thyme.
Perfect.
I had the fried Pacific Oysters.
This was an appetizer mind you.
I didn't order any entree.
Six huge oysters.
HUGE.
Lightly battered and fried.
Quite good.
I still prefer Atlantic oysters.
They're more delicate.
They're sweeter.
They have more of an ocean flavor.
This is Jennifer, our terrific, friendly,
and informative waitress.
She was wonderful.
Thanks, Jennifer.

That salad looks yummy. I miss having spinach at home. Darn people with gout.
