St. Joseph, Nebraska to Lincoln, Nebraska
After a nice steak for our mid-afternoon repast
where I just had to ignore the waitress
since she was ignoring me,
the Hawthornes headed to Lincoln, Nebraska,
to yet another Comfort Inn
for the night.
For Mr. Hawthorne's birthday last month,
I got him one of those turntable/cassette tape jobbies
that records onto CD's.
I pulled out some of my old tapes and records
(from the 70's)
and Mr. Hawthorne burned a few CD's for our trips.
That's what we're listening to here on the videos.
Enjoy.
We finally got to our hotel in Lincoln -
another Comfort Inn.
Let's take a look around, shall we?
"Measure twice.
Cut once."
Yeah, that's the one.
Ah.
A little cricket under my table.
Not to worry.
He's dead.
But wait.
What's this?
Mr. Hawthorne espied this spider
the size of a Buick
right next to me.
(Points Kathy for the movie reference.)
And no.
He is NOT dead.
In fact,
he's very much alive.
But not for long.
Rosie, I had to look it up because I ain't never seen that movie.
ReplyDeleteTell them to send the rain on to us.
ReplyDeleteNasty, big spider that was.
....I think I would try another hotel in the chain for the 2 night 1 free deal!!! I don't like spiders...I always they have friends with them!
ReplyDeleteAny bed bugs yet?
ReplyDeleteNo bed bugs. Yet. But we're only two weeks into the trip.
