October 8. Dinner In Gold Beach, Oregon, At Nor'wester Steak & Seafood.

The Hawthornes made it to Gold Beach, Oregon. We have an ocean front hotel room and I'm anticipating a lovely sunset over the Pacific - the matching bookend to my sunrise over the Atlantic. Time for an early dinner.
Don't think this boat has seen much use lately.
We found the Nor'Wester Steak and Seafood Restaurant. Here's the menu for your perusal.
Like I said, West Coast is pricey.
Here's the view out the window.
A wonderful hot bread with butter balls was brought to us. Delicious.
I had just appetizers. Spinach salad with red onions, chopped eggs, and bacon with a house dressing. Chowder with a hint of thyme. Perfect.
I had the fried Pacific Oysters. This was an appetizer mind you. I didn't order any entree. Six huge oysters. HUGE. Lightly battered and fried. Quite good. I still prefer Atlantic oysters. They're more delicate. They're sweeter. They have more of an ocean flavor.
This is Jennifer, our terrific, friendly, and informative waitress. She was wonderful. Thanks, Jennifer.
Harbor seals would pop up every now and then. And I couldn't get a picture of him, but the kite surfer from about 10 miles previous had made it to here. Here's the picture from 10 miles previous:

That salad looks yummy. I miss having spinach at home. Darn people with gout.
