My Great Fearless Fisherman Comes Back With Speckled Trout,

For some reason, the Lion King music
started playing my head,
and now it's an ear worm and I can't get it out.

Boy caught a 15-inch speckled trout.
Dinner tonight
Youngest Hawthorne deftly fileted the fish,
then we soaked it in buttermilk, at least 30 minutes

We use the same coating mixture lots of times.
Because it works.
1 cup flour
1 cup semolina
1/2 cup cornstarch
Old Bay
Mix all together.
Dredge filets through mixture
and fry in peanut oil, 350°, until golden and fish flakes.


Delicious sweet meat.


Mahogany and black rice
and sautéed green beans with feta and walnuts for the sides.
