Rosie Makes A Little Afternoon Delight.

I had some green beans and snow peas
in my vegetable drawer calling out to me,
"Rosie!  Rosie!
Make a light beer batter
that we can bathe in
and then pour us in a hot tub of oil!
Please????"

Well, since you put it like that ...
 My Beer Batter
1 cup flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 1/8 cups beer
1 tsp combination cayenne pepper,
aleppo pepper, and hot paprika
Mix altogether and whisk until smooth.

Mix dry ingredients
and pour in beer.

Whisk until smooth.

 You want a pourable batter.

 Whee!
Beans and snow peas hop into the batter bath.

Coat thoroughly.
And thoughtfully.

Fry in batches so as not to lower the temperature of the oil.
It took me three batches.
You want the oil 350° - 375°
Fry for three minutes, until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels.

 And serve.

Mr. Hawthorne made a dipping sauce:
mayonnaise
hot chili sauce
sweet chili sauce
lime juice.

 Enjoy!
You don't have to tell me twice to eat my vegetables.
Feel free to double dip.

Give it some lime juice lovin'.
Green on green is always good.

Comfort food! These look delicious. I've been craving loose meat sandwiches and funnel cakes, these would be the perfect addition. Yum!
