Yo! Bro Haw!

Merry Christmas!
Happy Holidays ! Happy New Year!
This is a picture of Brother & Sister In Law Hawthorne. I know Bro Haw loves to see pictures of himself in my blog. I must apologize, Brother Hawthorne. My assistant, Tiffany Garcia, was unable to remember how she scanned and enlarged the last photographs you sent me of yourself on that horse in Monument Valley, so's I could upload them to my blog,
There's a funny story with this picture. Brother Hawthorne had an Indian guide. The Indian told Bro Haw he'd take $2.00 to ride his horse out on the butte where John Wayne was in whatever movie so's Brother H. could take a picture of him. Brother Hawthorne told the Indian he'd give him $20 if the Indian would let him take his horse out on the peak and the Indian take a picture of him. so this picture you sent me is scanned and un-enlarged. Damn that Tiff!

Play Date With Brother Hawthorne.

This post is for Brother Hawthorne who's been anxiously waiting to see the pictures I took on the farm the other day. He loves pictures of himself so I'm sure he'll be happy to be the subject of this post. Poor Brother Hawthorne. The man has to be doing something all the time. And he has too much time on his hands. So he's got a lot of toys.
Here's his new little horse, Gypsy. Edited to add: Brother Hawthorne has corrected me. Gypsy belongs to one of his granddaughters.
She's quite a pretty little thing and very sweet.
Brother Hawthorne couldn't find anybody else to play with the other day, so Sister Hawthorne and I were enlisted to go on a buggy ride on the farm with him. I imagined Sister-In-Law Hawthorne staying at home by herself, doing her happy dance.
Here are some of Brother Hawthorne's toys. Yeah, Brother Hawthorne. We know it's all about your grand chillun.
Thirty minutes to hitch up for a twenty minute ride. Not bad.
And he's off.
Enjoy the rear of Gypsy.
I can't imagine the early settlers going across the country in one of these.
Enjoy the views.
Sister Hawthorne got to open the gates.
One of the barn doors. My Daddy built this barn for me back in the 70's.
Thank you, Brother Hawthorne, for our little excursion. You really have learned to play well with others.

To Brother Hawthorne.

Dear Brother Hawthorne, You've admitted to me that you occasionally check out my blog, so, for tonight, I hope you're reading, feeling well, of course, bolstered by pharmaceuticals ... Ohhh... but WAIT! You're a Hawthorne. You don't take pain pills, do you? You Nancy, you! Even after invasive surgery. Laparoscopic as it may have been. Sister-In-Law Hawthorne - My thoughts are with you at this most difficult of times. Are blog thank-you notes enough these days? Can you send an email as a thank you note? I need to check up on my netiquette. I am sorry if a blog entry is not enough. Being brought up in the Hawthorne Household, we were formed to not mention the unmentionables ... someone in the hospital, someone sick, someone having an illness, someone dying - and Dog forbid you actually referenced the Damn Elephant In The Room. So, Dear Brother Hawthorne, I wish you well. I wish you a speedy recovery, and I'm sure you can understand the confusion which accompanies this half-assed wish-you-well message. Best to you, Buddy-ol'-Pal, From Pal-0l'-Buddy.
