Mr. Hawthorne and I just found a new eatery on the beach.
Oh my goodness.
I'm so glad we found this place!
If you want authentic Mexican,
this is the place to go -
OBX Tortilleria, Panaderia & Taqueria
at Mile Post 6, west side of bypass, in KDH.
Note: This is TAKE-OUT only!

Here's the menu so you can get an idea of their offerings.
I had the cheese enchiladas with black beans and rice.
I am in heaven.
Mr. Hawthorne had the Barbacoa de Res Taco
(beef barbecue) served on traditional homemade soft corn tortillas
with onion, lime, salsa, and cilantro.
The meat was delicious - just the right amount of heat.
He also ordered the Taco de Pescado (fish taco) -
fresh marinated and grilled fish
served with shredded cabbage, tomato,
cilantro, onion, lime, and homemade salsa.
Excellent.
I can't wait to go back and work my way through the menu.
The cabeza is calling my name and I must try the lengua!

I think you should try the tripa también.
