Hurricane Arthur.

 Countdown to Hurricane Arthur.

Thursday, July 3, 2014.
Hah!
 No fireworks in MANETO!

 Stay safe, Mama Dove!

 Cleared deck of plants.
It's a jungle in here.

Beau and Junior are on alert.

Made Hurricane Bread with King ARTHUR Flour.

 Beau likes the plants.

These are all vining plants so they're staying put.
Anyone care to guess what this is?

  Moonflower and hyacinth bean vines.
These will get slammed.

This boat has been docked across the canal.
They wanted a safer place.

Pool furniture goes into the pool.

 More seedlings inside.

I didn't want to lose Irene in case of flooding,
so she came inside.

 Beware the Cantore Winds.
Ill winds indeed.

7:25 AM

Water came just over the bulkhead.

 Pier is covered.

 Mama is safe.

Power in Colington went out this AM.
Crews were right on it.

The usual flooding at Joe and Kay's Campground on Colington Road.

We're going to Foodlion, of course.
Gotta wine-up.

Blue skies on the way back.

 The SS Emily.

Happy Fourth of July!

We were very, very lucky!
This time.

Glad you weathered the storm with no major difficulties. A chick on the Today Show called it ManTAYoh!

Thanks, Tortietat.

I wish these reporters:
1) would know where they are. Looking at you, Cantore. "Waves? Salvo?" Where ever you were.
2) know how to pronounce the names of the towns you're talking about.

Glad to hear Arthur was something of a gentleman, at least for a hurricane.

I checked the weather channel (Cantore winds, indeed!) before I headed out to drive in the parade here and was glad to see that you were already pretty much clear of the worst of it.

Mar, we were just plain lucky. I'm breathing sighs of relief. Ever since Irene, I am not complacent. I expect the worse.
