April 27, 2012. Rosie Has A Most Excellent Meal. Whoo Hooo!

 Today is our fourteenth day on the road

and I'm getting ready to have the best meal yet.

At the Red Lodge Cafe in Red Lodge, Montana.

Anyone out there know what this is?

It was served with a wonderful Ranch dressing with sriracha dip.

Take a good look.

I've never had this before,

but I swore if I ever saw it on a menu

I'd order it.

It was in the appetizer section

and they offered 6 but I knew I couldn't eat six plus a meal,

so I asked the waitress could I try one.

She and her husband are the owners

and he's the chef,

so after consulting with hubby

 she came back and said yes!

I ordered the steak, rare.

Mr. Hawthorne got the ground beef steak burger

with perfectly steamed veggies.

Fresh veggies!

Not frozen.

He had to admit this was the best he'd had so far.

I ordered a steak.

Rare.

I've never had a sirloin this tender and flavorful.

It was as tender as filet

only better.

Excellent flavor.

Our waitress explained that her husband only orders

top-end meat.

It is obvious.

And no, it doesn't taste like chicken.

Tender, lightly fried.

Delicate flavor.

Ranch dressing with sriracha for a dip.

I don't have to strap 'em on anymore.

I can just eat them now!
