After lunch in Nashville,
the Hawthornes made it to Knoxville for the night.
I have a plan.
I am planning to be in Marion, NC,
the next day by lunchtime
so we can eat at Jalapeno Fresh Grill,
which is the best Mexican I've had anywhere.
I navigate purposely,
with food in mind.
There's an addictive salsa
and toasty chips that are served immediately.
The lights going around are green cacti and red cowboy boots.
Mr. Hawthorne was happy.
He could eat Mexican and still keep to his diet.
Lettuce with salsa dressing.
Ground beef.
Chicken.
Peppers.
More salsa.
They had a buffet for lunch!
Mr. Hawthorne loves a buffet.
I'm not a fan of the buffet.
I had the enchilada on left,
chile relleno with pineapple salsa in middle,
and little fried beef taquitos on the right.
Blurred taquitos.
They wouldn't hold still.
Chile relleno.
Enchilada.
I'm a happy camper.
Happily well-fed and road-weary,
we continued to Raleigh for the night.
We'll be back home the next day - Thursday, May 31, 2012.

We will both be happy to be home
and in the kitchen again.
And back into another routine which I've missed.
I've tired of our motel routine.
I'm ready to embrace home.
