Snacktime. Ersters.

The Hawthornes are on their third bushel of oysters.

Drizzle a little melted butter over top.

Dot with cocktail sauce.
Ketchup.
Horseradish.
Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce.
Lemon Juice.
Swirl together.
I don't want a homogeneous mixture.
I want pockets of flavor.

Give it some lemon love.


These were steamed oysters.
We do a big pot of 3 or 4 dozen oysters
and steam them in about an inch of water,
 covered, until they start to open,
about 8 - 12 minutes.

 I lurves me some oysters.
