When my Hawthornelets want a little snack,
I turn to an excellent resource - Tostitos.
I always have some of Mr. Hawthorne's chili in the freezer.
The secret to Mr. Hawthorne's chili
is to ChopChopChop that hamburger meat
until it's a very fine texture.
He adds in a little granulated garlic,
some onion powder, a little oregano, some cumin,
some cayenne pepper,
some freshly ground salt and pepper,
and at the end of cooking, he adds in his chili powder
and some Texas Pete.
I filled the scoops with the chili,
topped it with black olives, jalapenos, and grated cheeses,
and ran it under the broiler for a quick melt.
Add cilantro, salsa, and shredded lettuce.
Another Hawthorne-approved snack.
