Truly, It Is A Small World.

The other day, when I was waxing about people on my blog through my Feedjit, I asked about a certain person from Greensboro, NC., where my son lives. I got a response from GBO. Seems like the lady works at a glass company and the other day, she got a check from someone in Kill Devil Hills, and that kinda raised her eyebrows. She had already read about my posts about Middle Hawthorne's burglary in Greensboro. Well, small world!! It turned out the lady in GBO is the lady at the glass place that replaced my son's window and door. If you're in Greensboro, NC, and need any help with regards to broken glass, then please call Binswanger Glass.

I'm hoping it is ok to "Ask Rosie" here, instead of going back to the original post. I want to know more about the farm to fork place in Currituck, is it the Weeping Radish redone? I like the idea of buying and eating locally grown/caught/butchered foods, but is it worth the price and the effort?

Yes, xmaskatie, I believe it is.
I stopped in there once, but Mr. Hawthorne had been bitchin' the whole time up there about how far out of his way it was, so when we finally got there, we were in and out in no time, without really having time to look at stuff. I believe, at the time, I was in the market for veal bones or a pig's head, but they didn't have either on display in the cases.

One thing that always piqued my curiosity was the sign that advertised their on-site butchery, then right after that, "tours."
Does that mean we get to see the animals slaughtered?

Thanks for the links Rosie, good info. But I want to know if the meat tastes any different (worth the drive and the additional $) from the stuff you usually buy.
And, I would be happy to offer my services for a taste test if necessary.
Isn't taste of the beach doing something this year with farm to table food?

Not to my knowledge, xmaskatie.

I did notice they're doing a bunch of spa crap, - aromatherapy, wraps, facials, pedis, manis, blahblahblahfishcakes.

I thought this was supposed to be about the food. I might have to blog about this.
