Fog Rolling In And Happy Birthday To Rosie!

Sorry I'm lax in blogging about the chile rellenos I made the other night when Xmaskatie and Glowria came to dine with the Hawthornes. These chiles were stuffed with shrimp, Spanish Rice, caramelized corn with cumin, and broccoli, in other words, they were Moreover Rellenos. At least you have that post to look forward to. You also have my shrimp quesadilla I made for lunch the other day in the wings. But before I do any of those posts, I'm going to show you the Triple Layer Lemon Cake with lemon curd between the layers and a cream cheese/butter/lemon frosting which Mr. Hawthorne slaved over this morning to make for my birthday today. But not now. For now, I give you this:
Sometimes other fun things get in the way
and Rosie just needs to lie back and relax.
Rosie spent the day yesterday in Chesapeake having an arthroplasty on my fourth right toe.
The nurses at the Stanley Jennings Surgery Center were terrific. They actually sang Happy Birthday to me in the operating room. I had a local so I was awake for the whole procedure.
I had a hammertoe plus a bone spur was sticking into little pinky toe and making me unhappy. Hopefully, I'll be up and kicking and cooking soon. In the meantime, here's the weather today:
10:43 AM
11:00 AM
2:09 PM I love froggy days.
