The Foodie Gals Visit!

The Hawthornes had the pleasure
of having the Foodie Gals visit with us this week.
 Thank you so much, ladies,
for coming to see us!

I want to show my readers
some of the highlights of our visit.

Fried soft shell crab.
Shrimp.
Cole slaw.
Extreme cocktail sauce.
Tartar sauce with fresh dill.

 Eggs Hawthorne.
Toasted English muffin,
 steamed spinach,
2 minute and 30 second poached egg,
grilled ham,
and Hollandaise sauce.

Appetizer:
Tostitos and cheese dip
with Mr. Hawthorne's Salsa Ranchera
and sliced scallions.

Sautéed scallops on a bed of mixed greens and snow peas.

Mar is preparing a mushroom fettucine dish.

 She brought me MORELS!

I have her recipe for this,
but I cannot share it.
I will be making this again.
I will tell you it has fresh parsley and bacon on it.
And MORELS!

 Pho.

 Crême brulée.

Foodie Mama and Daughter
helped me make my succulent chair.
I'm waiting for the succulents to succulate.
They're still a little droopy and shocked.

We took a trip to the Elizabethan Gardens.

Statue of Virginia Dare,
the first child born in America to English parents.

When we left this morning,
it was sunny and the temperature was 73°.

On the way back,
a cold front blew through.
Heavy rain.
The wind was blowing.
 Hard.
And the temp dropped to 62°.
We stopped at the beach access at Colington Road,
since if you drive all the way from Indiana to KDH,
you really should go peek at the ocean.

Is this May?

Thank you, Foodies,
for coming to see us.

Until next time.
