Dinner At Maxine's.

I'm back home on the Outer Banks and am presenting Maxine's and my dinner I prepared Sunday night.
Sit back and enjoy.

I found these huge artichokes at Harris Teeter.
I haven't had artichokes since ... forever.
And I found out Maxine loves artichokes too.
She was very happy to see these in my grocery bags.

I steamed them for about an hour.
Until they were tender and the leaves pulled off easily.

I bought tuna steaks, salted and peppered them, and let them come to room temp.

Heated up the iron skillet, added olive oil and butter, then the tuna.

Maybe 2 - 2 1/2 minutes on each side.

Then I added some Chardonnay to deglaze the pan.

And just a tad more wine since I didn't think the steaks were quite done.

I had some butter/white wine/lemon/orange juice/caper sauce left over from the other night.
I decided to add some green olives.

Nuked it.
It was quite tasty.

Maxine had some red grapes in her fridge, so I sliced those and chopped some green onions.

Here's my roasted red pepper/shrimp sauce leftover from the other night.

My leftover pineapple salsa.

This is Maxine's chandelier over her dining table.
Isn't it beautiful?

Artichoke going into butter/lemon/paprika.
Wonderful.

No words were spoken throughout the meal.
Just "Mmmmmm .... Ohhhhhhhh ... Ahhhhhhhh ... Ooooooh .... Mmmm."

My children hate it when I do that.
"OPEN your eyes, mama. Stop that."

Maxine declared this meal "orgasmic."

We finally finished and even though neither of us smokes, I asked her if she wanted a cigarette.
It seemed fitting.
