Three Dinners At The Hawthorne's In One Night.

Banana pepper from my garden.
I started with this one pepper and decided to do stir fry tonight.

Note: Middle Hawthorne had come in previously at 4 PM, starving,
after working out at the gym.
Funny, he pays money to go to the gym, yet does he do any work out around the house?
I think NOT.
Oh, and he has to eat, RIGHT THEN AND THERE.
Immediately.
So, of course, I fixed him a hamburger,
since he couldn't wait for the stir fry.
You'd think this strapping young man is going to waste away right in front of your eyes.

This is what I have to work around in my kitchen.

Giada has plopped herself right in front of my work area
where I was prepping veggies for the stir fry.

Beau has passed out right in front of my sink.

Why do all dogs end up in my kitchen where I'm trying to work?

Dixie and Daughter Hawthorne enjoy the sunshine on the deck.

Here are my stir fry ingredients:
At top left, going clockwise, I have onions, broccoli, carrots, snow peas,
assorted peppers, and celery.

At the bottom is my on-sale Angus chuck strip steak.
Here's a tip:
Put the steak in the freezer for about 30-45 minutes to slightly freeze it up
so you can slice it very thinly.

I'm starting stir frying the broccoli and carrots.

I always like to add a bit of sugar to my veggies.

I added the onions and peppers and peas at the end,
then added a bit of water to steam the veggies.

Seared the meat.

Added a cornstarch slurry.

Then added some beef broth.

Heat until thickened.

In the meantime, Mr. Hawthorne decided to cook soft shells.
They're only in season for a few weeks and he likes to take advantage of them.

Tater tots and soft shells.

And here's what my cook top looks like after Mr. Hawthorne finished his soft shells.
They spit all over the place.

Oil dripping down everywhere.

Cleaned cook area.

This is Cinnamon, one of Dixie's friends.
Poor Cinnamon apparently has hysterical pregnancies, according to her owner.
He showed me her swollen nipples.
She also has no left ear.
One of our lovely neighbors actually shot her ear off.
That's sick.

I love your range! My kitchen is so small, I can't have anything like that. I have a new GE Profile with two ovens, which I love, but I crave a range like yours. And I have no idea why dogs like the kitchen when you're working. My grand dog is the same way (an English bull terrier) and we have to kick her out all the time.

NMOAC, The dogs are just lying there waiting for anything to drop, I think. Dixie is always there. And now these two babies just plop wherever they want, which is right in front of my counter area where I prepare stuff and right in front of the sink. I love my range too! Imonnna marry it!!!
