View From My Deck Last Night.

It was another very smoky evening last night.

And here's a satellite view from today.
And here's another
taken on June 7.
And another
from June 8.

That Modis Today site is neat.
Check it out.

At top left, on the satellite shots, you can see the smoke.
The wildfire has destroyed over 32,556 acres (50 square miles) of woodland in Hyde, Tyrrell, and Washington counties in nine days after a lightning strike started it all.

I read it was the largest wildfire currently burning in the USA. It is very smokey here tonight, we're about 40 miles NNW of the fire, and when there is no wind, the smoke settles.

Yeah, even we have your GD NC smoke here tonight. Can't breathe out there. Jeeze.

Hey Ticks, Long time, no see, no hear.

Really bad here in the afternoon, when the wind changes.

This morning, I could smell the smoke in my house.
