Mr. H. And I TaKe Another Trip Today.

Before I get into our trip today,
I must show you last night's sunset.

For you serious photogs out there,
go to your exposure compensation button,
and try different minus exposure settings
for sunset shots.

Now, Mr. H and I had an errand to run in Elizabeth City today,
so we stopped at a waterfront restaurant for lunch.

See how clear everything is?

After lunch, when we came outside, the wind had shifted.
Smoke.
All the way up in E-Z City.

More smoke.

And more smoke.
Very heavy.

Mr. H. and I both ordered a cup of Hatteras Chowder for a starter.
Very good.
But I didn't like the raw-looking bacon in it.
It was probably cooked, but not enough for my tastes.

One more thing that absolutely disgusted me.
They had some kind of whipped butter (but not butter) packets.
I actually used it on my crackers.
Then I decided to put some of this "butter" (NOT!!!!!!) in my soup.
It did not melt.
It made clumps in the soup.
DISGUSTING!

Here's Mr. Hawthorne's entree.
Fried oysters and cole slaw.

And Just.Let.Me say,
the coleslaw?
SUCKED!
I had a bite and spit it out immediately.
In the disgusting butter packet
GAWDAWFUL!

Here are my fried oysters on my salad.
$6.99.

OK, I had asked for two dressings:
blue cheese and parmesan pepper.
I just got the blue cheese.

Now, my take on the oysters.
They were OK.
Too heavy with the coating.
I thought it sort of too greasy or oily and the coating too overpowering.

I watched this guy ride up on his bike.
Set everything out.
Then he sat down to fish.

As Mr. Hawthorne told them,
"A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work."

We got home.
And I took a picture of my beautiful sunflower.

  2. Bring me your camera. I'll find it.
It could be in a menu setting.
You could have a separate button for it. I have both.

Have you read your manual, xmaskatie, dear?
