Saturday morning, Mr. Hawthorne and I left Christiansburg for Mabry Mill, a popular tourist destination in Virginia and one of the most photographed features of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Originally built by miller Edwin B Mabry in 1910, Mabry Mill is a water powered grist mill, known for its stone ground grits, cornmeal, and buckwheat flour.
We bought bags of each. I've already had the grits and they're delicious.
Once you have real stone ground grits,
you'll never be able to eat the other stuff.
Pretty place.
After visiting here, we get back on the Parkway,
aiming for Grandfather Mountain.
