After hurricanes hit the Outer Banks,
the T-shirt companies thrive,
cranking out hurricane shirts:
I Survived Isabel.
I Survived Floyd.
I Survived Earl.
I Survived Fran.

Thanks to Marion,
who sent me this cartoon from The New Yorker.
This really hit home.
See my views on "televised coverage" here.

The funny thing is that my only, and I mean my only, televised coverage of Irene was of hearing "there is literally sand everywhere." Really? On a beach? Who know? And they pay these guys the big bucks. Go figure.
