Hi, Becky! This Post Is For You.

One of my readers, Becky, asked Rosie: Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Follow The Light.":

Rosie, could you give us a good photo of this mysterious knife sharpener? This I'd like to see! Becky
I'd previously posted the following picture.
And I asked my readers to, "Guess that shadow," in the comments. I'm offering a gift to the winner. First, all the comments:

Lovely. I have rainbows and sparkles in my great room on sunny days. When I'm feeling mischievous, I twirl the mosaic bowls so that Minx goes crazy, trying to catch the sparkles.

I can't touch my prisms when Beau is here. It makes him paranoid.

Ooooh. It is different.

Good guess, Lea. But no cigar.

Dang, I knew what it was too, but I have been there as well, so I disqualify myself.

Ding ding ding ding. We have a winner. But anony, you've been here so that's kinda cheating. But you'll get a prize anyway. And BY THE WAY, is it that much trouble to use the y and the o? I may withhold your prize until you start texting properly

Remember, I'm picking the winner here.

And I have a winner. It's not the ones who guessed correctly. Three actually know what it is since they've been here and two said what it was, so that disqualifies them. That means Lea wins. She had the best guess without actually knowing. And that would be Lea, of The Adventures of Alpha and Omega blogdom. Lea, I actually have an apple peeler and if it sat on my kitchen window, its shadow would look like that. So Lea, E-Me at rosiehawthorne@aim.com and we'll chat prize. Chocolate? Cookies? Biscotti? Now, back to Becky, who prompted this post.

What I want to know is how long have you had this sharpener and how much have you used it. Granted that I have purchased cheaper sharpeners in the past, but I have found that after a few times, I have had to discard them and buy new sharpeners.

I would love to find a perfect balance between my husband's frugality and my desire for something that lasts.

Mar, we've had it about 5 years. Replaced blades once. Use it several days a day. Plus it's a conversation piece. Nobody knows what it is.

Thank you Rosie and Mr. Hawthorne for the entertaining demonstration of your Warthog knife sharpener. It was such fun! Becky
