Oldest Hawthornette is upset because Middle Hawthorne was in my Blog and she wasn't.

This is Oldest Hawthornette. She is very, very special to me. And that's Rosie, my black lab. On the Colington Beach. That beach doesn't exist anymore. Eroded away. The Lab doesn't exist anymore either. Just in my heart. Which is a very good place.

First birthday for #1.

I love her look. She's devouring that cake.

Mr. Hawthorne shot this one. Her first fish. She was damned determined.

This was hard for me. It was my daughter's graduation and Mr. H.'s and my 25th anniversary AND Mother's Day all AT THE SAME TIME! May 12, 2007.



The SEA of CAROLINA BLUE is BEAUTIFUL.

And NOW? So many years later? Her graduation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She's the one in the blue.

I am so proud of her. I love you #1 Hellion.

My dear daughter, I love you more than words can say. I will always be here for you. I am so proud of you. You have always amazed me and you will continue to amaze me. I love you.

And NOW???? I'm totally crying.
But it's the good crying.
