Mr. Hawthorne fixed lunch for us today.
Fried shrimp and a salad with a light vinaigrette.
Frying is one of the best ways to cook shrimp.
It really brings out the flavor of the shrimp.
For the shrimp, dredge in 1 part regular flour and 1 part semolina flour
with a poof of Old Bay seasoning.
These were fried in peanut oil over medium high heat
for about 1 minute.
For the vinaigrette,
1 part vinegar to 4 parts canola oil
and salt and pepper.
Simple, yet it lets the flavors of the salad shine.
