I've made burritos for my boys hundreds of times.
Now it's their turn to make them.
They'd asked my for the umpteenth time
to make them burritos
and I told them to make their own.
And they did.
Naturally, I had to shoot pictures of this
because I was having a hard time believing what I was seeing.
Ahhh.
The beauty of teamwork.
One boy went down to the freezer in the utility room to get
Mr. Hawthornes "buckburgers."
The other one pulled out my leftover carnitas,
pepper, onion, cheeses, and tortillas from the fridge.
Middle Hawthorne is in charge here.
He's working on browning his meat
and breaking up the buckburgers.
Next he added in his chopped onion and pepper
to the browned meat.
And tossed happily away.
At some point,
he added in the carnitas and heated it all through.
I kinda sorta liked this picture.
Assembly.
No.
That tortilla in front didn't end up on the floor.
Beau likes the kitchen smells.
Middle Hawthorne is assembling as ...
... Youngest Hawthorne grates the cheese.
Tortillas ready for the grated cheese.
Middle Hawthorne grating a Monterey Jack cheese.
Nice clouds that night.
Middle Hawthorne rolls the burritos.
350 degree oven until heated through and cheese is nicely browned.
They had a quart of the burrito filling leftover
so they can easily make more.
Rosie is served.
My boys can actually cook!
Who'd a thunk?
Now if they could only clean up.
You taught them well!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the cleaning up will come with time? Or not.
ReplyDeleteGood boys! Now do he dishes too!
ReplyDeleteI like your moments of ADD
ReplyDeleteTicky
A touch of ADD keeps things interesting I think, Ticky.
ReplyDeleteNow you went and did it. I just had to go get the ingredients for a breakfast burrito. That will be our dinner tonight. I think our fellow tailgater who got us hooked on those will be happy as well.
