Another Late Afternoon Storm.

As I was blogging last night, this popped up on my screen.
It's the Triple Doppler Weather Warn from a TV station out of the Hampton Roads area.
Of all the desktop weather programs I've tried out,
and believe me when I say I've tried out a lot ( One tends to do that when one lives in an area frequented by hurricanes.), this is absolutely the best one.

This photograph off my monitor just doesn't do it justice, but the different colors show the different intensities of the storm.

It gives you a 20-minute loop of storm activity/movement.
If you look closely at the right hand side, you will see 3 concentric red circles.
I'm in the inner-most circle and the storm is rapidly approaching.

So I go out to the deck to take a look-see and here it is.

I love a good storm.

It's close now.

Getting closer.

Check out my willow trees.
Mr. Hawthorne was at Food Lion at the time and called to tell me to secure everything on the deck, as he was experiencing hurricane-force gusts that almost took off the door on his truck.
Mr. Hawthorne, please. You do not need to call me to tell me to take care of shit.
That's what I do.

And here it is.

A lovely storm.
My garden loves this.
My plants relish it.
I relish the rain.
And it smells so good.

Did you know that some people can't smell rain? Or snow?
Isn't that sad?
