Dirty Dixie Gets Another Bath.

Finally, all the Little Hawthornelets are out of the house - one to school, the other two to parts unknown - and Mr. Hawthorne is off to work. Yay! Play day for me. Except not. When they're gone is the only time I have to actually clean my house with no distractions, obstructions, or complications. If anybody were home, I'd be cleaning up one area, i.e the kitchen, over and over. So I started a'cleaning. First I started on what turned out to be the first of 6 loads of laundry. Then I cleaned up the downstairs bathroom, then started work on the kitchen. That's when Dixie interrupted me with her soulful eyes, pleading.
Here's Dixie at the top of the steps telling me to hurry up and tend to her toilette. And yes, those are mounting piles of laundry behind her.
This is one of Dixie's favorite parts of her bath.
Then, she just likes to be soaped up and relax for a few minutes.
Finally, it's time for her nappy, covered with hot towels straight from the dryer. Dixie's a happy puppy now. And I can finish cleaning up.
