Tiger Shark Spotted In The Sound.

A tiger shark, rare to these waters, made news when it was recently spotted in the sound off Colington Island. Mature sharks average 10-14 feet long and weigh 850 to 1400 pounds. They can attain a length of over 16 feet and a weight of 2400 pounds. The tiger shark is a predator and is considered to be one of the most dangerous sharks to humans, second only to the great white shark in number of recorded attacks.
