Mr. Hawthorne Stir Fries.

Mr. Hawthorne prepared our lunch today.
Looks like a stir fry is in order. Onion. Snow peas. Cauliflower. Green pepper. Celery. Carrots. Broccoli. If you learn nothing else from this blog, please learn to stir fry. You don't have to have a wok. A heavy skillet will do. And don't be intimidated. Turn the heat on medium-high to high, add your oil (I prefer peanut oil, but since that's so expensive, I use a peanut oil blend.) then add in your veggies. Quick stir fry. And your veggies retain their color and crispness. I usually fry for a minute or so, then add in some water to steam. And I remove the veggies (slightly undercooked) to a bowl and cover while I do the meat. Mr. Hawthorne has his own method. Chacun a son gout.
Heat oil in your wok or skillet and put in first the ingredients that take longer to cook ...
... in this case, the broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and celery.
Keep moving and stirring.
Add in the quicker-cooking onions and snow peas.
Quick stir.
Add in a little water to steam.
Then Mr. Hawthorne added his shrimp.
A bit of white wine.
A little chili garlic sauce. And serve.
Thank you, Mr. Hawthorne. Another good meal.

Better guard the doors. A man who cooks? Awesome.
