Youngest Hawthorne's Birthday Cake.

It is Saturday evening.
It is Youngest Hawthorne's birthday.
Here's his Gateau de Trois Chocolats. The glaze should have no lumps in it. I opted for texture.
I'm just now serving cake. This cake has been idling in the fridge for an hour or so. What you need to do is slice it and nuke it. Then add ice cream. I didn't do that to the above slice of cake. After I took a bite or two, I stopped moaning and popped the cake into the microwave. It became a lovely, gooey, luscious ensemble. Pics of that tomorrow.
Youngest Hawthorne (on far right) has a birthday entourage. The $3.99 watermelon we bought at Food Lion today was overripe and mushy.
Mr. Hawthorne lit the candles on our son's cake. He is 20 years old today.
Without further ado, I present to you ... Youngest Hawthorne's Birthday Cake.
Recipe is forthcoming.
