Dinner At Maxine's.

Sunday morning, Mr. Hawthorne and I left the Outer Banks for a short trip.
North Carolina highways are some of the prettiest what with the 1/4 mile long stretches of wildflowers.
Mr. Hawthorne dropped me off in Danville at Maxine's.
For dinner Sunday night, Maxine prepared a salad with a Balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing.
I liked her serving spoons.
Beautiful chandelier.
Carmen joined us for dinner and brought these lovely gardenias.
Steak, yummy sweet 'taters, and my favorite - tabbouleh, courtesy of Carmen. I lurves me some tabbouleh. And this tabbouleh had feta in it - a very welcome and pleasant surprise.
Very light salad punctuated with almonds, green olives, shrooms, peppers, celery, sunflower seeds, carrots, and garbanzo beans.
Dessert was marvelous and I usually don't do dessert. Fresh blueberries ($0.99/pint at Aldi's.), Greek yogurt, Creme de Cacao, and dark chocolate. Excellent dessert, Maxine. Kudos.
Remember this famous photograph?
Maxine recently acquired this from one of the art students at Averett University in Danville.
You can't tell from my photograph, but it's 3-dimensional.
And it's amazing.
Carmen was wearing a lovely shirt. And I really like this photograph.
Good food. Good friends. Cheap wine. ($2.97 at Aldi's.) It's win-win.
