Rosie has a few last minute things to do tomorrow
before Hurricane Irene blows through.
Tomorrow, I'll bring the plants in.
Why do I have so many plants?
I'll bring the furniture in to put the plants on.
Thai basil.
More plants to bring in,
except for my moonflowers
which are twining all around the rails
and climbing up my bay tree.
When we put the shed in,
we put in hurricane anchors,
so hopefully, it'll stay put.
Hope it doesn't flood
because if it does,
I'll be mulching the neighborhood
from my mulch pile.
Moonflowers climbing up railing.
Buh bye amaranthus.
Moonflower.
Leaning bay tree on the right.
The lean was caused by a hurricane last year.
Amaranthus are gonna get beaten.
Texas star hibiscus.
Castor bean plant.
My roses.
I've had hurricanes come through in August and September
and whip every leaf off my roses.
I go out the next day,
cut the roses back,
fertilize them,
and they think it's spring.
In October I'll have another crop
of beautemous roses.
Castor bean.
Moonflowers climbing up fence and into willows.
Don't forget to take down the hummingbird feeders.
Did you notice Miss Dixie in the picture next to the Celine pic? She is looking at the camera (and mom), heh. Best of luck to you all in the OBX! Barbara

ReplyDeleteI knew Dixie was in there, Barbara.
ReplyDeleteDixie is never far from me. Now, she follows me everywhere.
And thanks for good wishes.
I've been thinking about you with this hurricane coming up. Will you evacuate?
ReplyDeleteThe Hawthornes are staying, Sage.
