Middle Hawthorne
just called me.
He'd gone back to his house in Greensboro,
and it had been broken into.
His wide screen TV is gone.
I don't know what else.
Probably everything.
I told him to call the police and make a report.
This totally sucks.

Ah, so sorry to hear that, Rosie. Hang in there, dear.
ReplyDeleteAh man, that's terrible. Hope they catch the little bastards that did this.
ReplyDeleteRosie, so very sorry. Was he near campus? I live close to Ohio State, and every year at this time there is a news report on campus-area break-ins. My niece got it last year. Criminals know the students are all home for Christmas. This year they reported more than 40 break-ins, and the kids aren't even back till this weekend, so there will be even more reported once they get home. It is sickening. I pray he had renter's insurance.
ReplyDeleteThat's horrible, I hope they catch the culprit.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. He has insurance. And we do not think this is a random break-in. Certain neighborhood children have been trespassing in his yard, even though he has "No Trespassing" and "Beware of Dog" signs all over the place. They try to antagonize Beau until he reacts by jumping on them and knocking them down, then they wanted to sue, and one neighbor threatened my son with a "This isn't over yet."
ReplyDeleteGee, that sounds familiar. I believe I received one of those "This isn't over yet"s not too long ago.
Anyways, we told him to contact the DA about this and also social services, since it appears some parents are sending their children over in the hopes that they'll get not too injured and Ma and Pa will get a nice little settlement.
Just sayin'. ALLEGEDLY.
