Being in a bit of a festive mood today,
I decided to make my own tablescape,
although I'm absolutely no match for Sandy.
Oversized poinsettia - check.
Evergreen arrangement with candle - check.
Pirate nutcracker - check.
(From when Ticky came down for my birthday last
year and we had a pirate-themed scape.)
And Scary King Christmas whose belly opens up
from a hinge in his back,
displaying candy - check.
(A lovely and thoughtful gift
from Carol of Alinea At Home
and formerly of French Laundry At Home.)
And the wonderful part about my tablescape
is there's nowhere to put any food -
just like Sandy's scapes.
See, I'm learning.
Rosie, your tablescape is quite nice, but where is your cocktail tree? And don't you think you need some lamps on the table, or perhaps a chair or two?
ReplyDeleteYou know, Sara, I do have some old bird cages out in the shed. And I might have enormous empty picture frames out there, too. And I actually have a Buddha. She's faux though.
ReplyDeleteYou know rosie, if you put a little fake red blood on the pirate nutcracker, it would not only be in keeping with his fearsome persona, but it would add a festive Christmas touch
ReplyDeleteNow, Rosie. I can still see your table underneath the day-kor. You need to watch the sensei some more, dear.
ReplyDeleteBut Mar, tablescaping is a lot of
ReplyDeletehard work! >Whine<
