Last week, when we left Danville
and traveled to Yanceyville and beyond,
we passed this homestead -
all decked out for Christmas.
Just savor.
And enjoy.
Can you believe this?
We pass this house every time
on our trips.
It's decked out like this for Easter - with bunnies galore.
For Halloween - with inflatable witches and pumpkins.
For Thanksgiving - with inflatable Pilgrims and Indians.
This is the first time I've actually stopped
to get pictures.
I just want to know something:
This is a house of modest means.
Where do these people store all
these inflatables?
Sadly, that's not even that bad.
ReplyDeleteThere is a house a few doors down from my mom, and every year they seem to manage to fit more stuff on to their tiny lawn. At least whoever did that tried to make an effort with what they had... the people by my mom's house have Mickey Mouse right next to the inflatable manger next to Santa on a Harley next to - I kid you not - a painted wood 6 foot tall Gumby with a Santa hat. My brain explodes a little every time I see it.
One of the houses in our neighborhood has an entire herd of those wire and lights reindeer. Each year they have more items in the yard, none of them inflatable. Where do they store those?
ReplyDeleteWe have neighbors down the street with a family of wire and lights reindeer. Imagine how proud I was to find out that it was MY son who had rearranged the happy little deer family to have the buck mounting the doe.
ReplyDeleteOh my. There is a house near mine like this one and they also decorate for each and every holiday. They seem to operate on the assumption that the more inflatable crap they can squeeze into their yard, the better. They probably have a storage building offsite, organized by season.
