Lunch At Bentto in Danville.

Monday for lunch, Maxine, Carmen, and I headed for Bentto Japanese Express.
I do not understand their spelling of "Bentto," but whatever. "Bento," for those who don't know, is a Japanese boxed lunch. Here's their menu:
We all ordered the vegetable, chicken, and shrimp tempura.
And here's our lunch. No not really, but Marion just sent me the Calvin & Hobbes Bento Lunch and I thought I'd share.
I love it when I can watch my meal being prepared.
I also ordered the house soup - a clear, smoky-flavored broth with mushrooms and scallions.
Here's my tempura. Fried broccoli, sweet potato, zucchini, onion, chicken, and shrimp, served with a mild soy dipping sauce. The tempura was excellent. And no. I didn't eat the whole thing. Brought Maxine's and my leftovers home to Youngest Hawthorne who enjoyed it for lunch on Tuesday. I'll be back and try something different next time.
