Darn it. I didn't get to run anybody off my property today.

I don't know why Dixie is doing this, but I wish she'd stop licking the sliding glass door.

DIXIE! STOP THAT!

Ed finished the steps and the rest of the deck today except for the railings.

Here's the website for this decking material:

http://www.timbertech.com/default.aspx

According to the website, " TimberTech composite decking and railing is a revolutionary alternative to traditional wood that doesn't rot, warp or splinter — and never needs staining or sealing."

This stuff is made from reclaimed wood fibers and pure plastic resins and comes with a 25 year warranty.
It looks very nice.

Here's another view. Ed worked today on getting the posts in.

First, Ed had to cut out the holes for the posts.

The posts will be covered with vinyl and
then the rails and pickets (aluminum clad with PVC)
will be attached to the posts,
making the whole thing maintenance free.

A lovely Nor'easter is blowing today.

I drove up to one of the piers today to catch a look at what Noel
was churning up.

Rather ferocious waves.

I can't believe people actually go out on the piers in these conditions. You do know that piers have been known to be swept away during storms.

All three shots were taken from the inside of my truck. My vehicle was being sandblasted enough. I didn't care to ruin my digital camera too.

Thanks for braving the weather to bring us those pictures, Rosie. The deck is looking good!

Ooh, were you gone with the wind? In a window treatment?

Heh. I was gone with the wind. Now I'm just 3 sheets to the wind. I couldn't get outta that truck for my life. Pelleting sand. Mr. H. kept saying, "Get the Hell outta here. You're effin' up your truck!" I kept asking him to go for a walk on the beach. (We both mess with each other. But, I would never expose my camera to that crap.)

I wish you had gotten some shots of Dixie from the other side of the glass door!! That's my favorite. Dixie's so f'nay-nay!
