Froggy Mornings And Fried Oysters.

Another froggy morning on the Outer Banks.

View from my deck.

Mr. Hawthorne and I had some wonderful fried oysters for lunch.

I make the best fried oysters.
Better than any restaurant down here.

Here are my fried oysters, Mr. H.'s fried potato nest, my coleslaw, Mr. H.'s tartar sauce, and my remoulade sauce.

We also like Boar and Castle Sauce. That's the bottle you see there. It's made in Greensboro, NC, and when we were there last month we found out that they don't make Boar and Castle Sauce anymore. The gentleman who has the arrrusssippee is retiring and no one knows if he's going to sell the arrrussssupppeee. We bought the last two cases the supermarket had.

But not to worry. Mr. Hawthorne has experimented and can duplicate the Boar and Castle. Smart Mr. Hawthorne.

What a delicious lunch.

Wow, those look yummy. I think I'd drive over the river and through the swamp in pea soup fog if I knew I'd be eating them for lunch.

And thank god you've included coleslaw, a necessity in my book when having fried oysters. Hey, I'm talking to YOU, Barefoot Bernie.
