We Start On Youngest Hawthorne's Bedroom.

What can I say? This is a 17-year old boy's room.
And it's a mess.

And you know what? Most of his crap has already been taken out. You're not really seeing the "Before" picture, just the "Kinda before."

West side of the room.

North side of the room.

You're missing my green, comfy chair I bought 35 years ago, my hammock rocking chair from Nags Head Hammocks, and the futon. They've already been taken out to the shed.

Plus the two bedside table/drawers. And the ship's hatch table. All out to the shed.

South side of the room.

While I was out of town for a week last year, I came back to the black curtains partitioning his room off.

I was not happy with this turn of events.

Slowly, we're getting the room cleared out.

This is Youngest Hawthorne's Catalina goat he got on a hunting trip with Mr. Hawthorne and Brother Hawthorne.

This is what Youngest Hawthorne sees from his bed and wakes up to every morning.

I discovered today that the goat's eyes follow you everywhere in the room.

Here's the wild boar he shot on another hunting trip, in Texas. The boar is directly overhead of Youngest Hawthorne in his bed.

Slowly, but surely, the room is being cleaned out.

That's one heavy dresser. We couldn't move it. Gotta leave something for Ed to do tomorrow.

Six hours later, we have this.

I had forgotten what a nice room this used to be when IT WAS MINE.

That's a walk-in closet on the left with a closet in the closet, and another closet on the right - storage spaces on either side of the dormer.

Cathedral ceilings.

Ed starts work tomorrow.

Everything in Youngest Hawthorne's room has been moved outside to the storage shed, except for his clothes which are on the shelves in Daughter Hawthorne's room.

When he got home from school today, he was just a tad surprised when he saw his room.
He didn't know we were starting on it so soon.

I told him his bed was in the storage shed and he would be sleeping out there for the next few weeks and I would run a hose out to the storage shed so he could shower outside.
He kinda believed me. Good.

And what color will Ed be painting this room?

Did your family eat the kills, or was this just another act of senseless violence? I've got a kick ass recipe for Catalina goat if you need it.

We ate for a long time off of the boar. I would flove to have your recipe for Catalina goat. Please send it to me. I believe you have my email address. Thanks so much, xmaskatie. And this was no actless sense of violence.

Oh, and marilyn, Youngest Hawthorne picked out Fresh Mint for the walls, and Creme Fraiche for the trim. Both were approved by Rosie. I think he was going for a Caribbean thing which I had to tone down a bit.
