What Happened Today.

After Ed had scraped off all the popcorn from the ceiling, he had the drywall guy come to put the mud on. It's sprayed on and called knock-down.

And Ed pulled up all the carpet.

Ed took the fan blades off, so I can finally clean them after 21 years of dust. OK, well, I did clean them a few times, but it was quite difficult standing on a mattress or a ladder.

Here's the North side of the room.

And the West side.

Here's a lovely palm I bought at WalMart to put in my bedroom.

Got my bed together. I like my lamps and my dust ruffle. As you remember, I almost lost it getting the skirtie thingie on. The mattress/Rosie sandwich?

Here's my chest of drawers and two plants I bought at WalMart. Need to put them INto nice pots. And that green thingie on the left is a glass thing that you put good-smelling oil INto then put in the sticks and they act as wicks to bring up the oil and distribute the aroma INto the room.

I must say, I love my bedroom now. It's very calming and just a nice place to be.

Ed starts painting Youngest Hawthorne's room tomorrow. YH has chosen Benjamin Moore's Fresh Mint for the walls and Creme Fraiche for the molding. Mr. H. is not happy with this. He wants the whole house back to SNOW MIST, which is a white with a slight blue tinge. I say BORING. Missie Hawthorne has a lovely Yeller bedroom - BM's Light Yellow for the walls and Sundance for the trim. I have a soothing, calming Daiquiri Ice for my walls and Light Pistachio for the trim. Mr. H. does not like change.

BM's Light Yellow...
OK, I'm 12, and this made me smile.

OK, xmaskatie, BM is short for BENJAMIN MOORE. Light Yellow is simply that - a light yeller. Grow up, bitch.

Mr. H. must not know that the designers on HGTV hate white paint on walls. Then again, so do I. There is not a white wall to be found in my house.

Well, Marilyn, the rest of the house is NOT white. It is SNOW MIST. BIG difference. BIIIIIIG difference.

those colors are soooo pale and similar and close to white.....I can't believe dillon ended up choosing those. When we talked about it at home he had decided he wanted pretty teal with sand. :( I was excited about that. And PS, you sound mean callin poor xmaskatie a bitch all the time.
