Wosie Woks A Winner!

I decided to do Sesame Chicken tonight for dinner.

Please, come along for the ride, because the chicken? IT.WAS.GOOD!

Here are all the ingredients for the marinade:

2 TB soy sauce
1 TB wine
3 squirts sesame oil
2 TB flour
2 TB cornstarch
2 TB water
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vegetable oil

Cut chicken INto 1 inch cubes and marinate for at least 30 minutes in the above mixture.

Here are the ingredients
for the sauce:

1/2 cup water
1 cup chicken broth
1/8 cup rice wine
1/8 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 cup sugar
2 TB soy sauce
1 TB sesame oil
1 TB sweet/hot chili sauce
1 large garlic clove, minced

Here are all the ingredients:
Top left is the sauce for my sesame chicken, basmati rice, top right is the marinating chicken, and bottom center
are the
chopped veggies.

Mix together all the sauce ingredients and bring to a boil.
Keep warm while
you prepare the rest.

Stir fry all the veggies. I like to add a pinch of sugar to the mix.
And always remember the trick I learned from the kitchen boys at China King:
Stir fry first in oil, then add some water to steam the veggies.

Add chicken pieces to the oil
(I use Planter's peanut oil.)
and fry until a nice brown.

Don't crowd the pan.
Only use about 10 pieces
at a time, in maybe 2 inches
of oil.

Drain the chicken pieces.

Heat up and stir the sauce.
I love these action photos!

Toss the veggies with the chicken, add the sauce,
and heat.

Here are the plated dinners.

Sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds on top.

I think each plate deserves its own close-up.

Coral plate for
Mr. Hawthorne.

Yellow plate for
Youngest Hawthorne.

And green plate for Rosie.

Rosie got four thumbs up for this meal!
I'm looking forward to leftovers tomorrow.

I wonder what the carb count would be for this wonderful looking meal. Hmm... And when can we expect Rosie's Wonderful Meals cook book out on the shelves?
