Youngest Hawthorne's Room.

What's been going on at the Hawthorne Household
this week?
I know you all want to know. Well, Ed's been working on Youngest Hawthorne's room.

Here's the before picture.

And another before picture.

Ed started Monday on the hard wood flooring. It's bird's eye maple and quite pretty. Dixie likes it.
The walls are Benjamin Moore's "Fresh Mint" and the trim is "Creme Fraiche."
Speaking of creme fraiche, I made some yesterday and
will share that with you next.

The problem with this room is that it's slanted and it's obvious to the naked eye. That's a six foot level and the floor is off
1 1/2 inches within 6 feet. The whole room is almost
3 inches off. That's what you get for living on sand and water.

Another view.

Mr. Hawthorne checks it out.

Here's Ed touching up the dings.

Dixie's checking out the room. She likee.

Here's the hallway going into my room.
My flooring runs north to south. The hall way is east to west. And Youngest Hawthorne's flooring runs on the diagonal, to give the illusion of a level floor.

Here's looking down the hallway. Bathroom on left and laundry on right.

I know this is disgusting, but here's the mess that I couldn't get to to clean out that's fallen in between the washer and dryer.

More disgusting mess between the dryer and the wall. I will be cleaning this out today. No telling what I'll find in there.

Ed finished the floor yesterday.
Ain't it purty?

Today, Ed's working on touch up painting and painting the floor molding.

Here's my closet in a closet. One can never have too much storage space.

Youngest Hawthorne will be able to move in this weekend.
He's excited.
