Dear Loyal Readers,
Today is a very sad day for me
and it is with a most heavy heart that I type this post,
which, unfortunately, will be my last.
I just received this registered letter which I will print
for you with the permission of the sender.
From the Law Offices of Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe, LLP
Dear Ms. Hawthorne:
It has come to our attention that you are the author of the blog Kitchens Are Monkey Business (www.kitchensaremonkeybusiness.com) in which you have consistently made deprecating, disparaging, and defamatory remarks about our client, Ms. Sandra Lee, American chef, best-selling author, self-proclaimed lifestyle expert, internationally acclaimed home and style expert, homemaker, inventor of the semi-homemade philosophy which espouses the concept of 70% ready-made products and 30% fresh ingredients and creative touches allowing you to take 100% of the credit, and emmy-nominated (for hair-styling) television celebrity.
On behalf of our client, Ms. Lee, we urge you to immediately shut down your blog, Kitchens Are Monkey Business.
As you neither asked for nor received permission to use Ms. Lee's likeness or her recipes in your work, we believe you have willfully infringed upon our client's rights under 17 U.S.C. Section 101 et seq. and could be liable for statutory damages as large as $1,500,000 as set forth in Section 504(c)(2) therein, pursuant to case number:
OI812 - 555 - 1010.
We demand that you immediately cease and desist any more production of and publication to your blog, Kitchens Are Monkey Business, and delete said blog and all traces of it from the internet.
If we have not received an affirmative response from you within 2 weeks, indicating that you have fully complied with these requirements, we shall take further action against you
and you will be facing certain jail time.
Yours very truly,
The Law Firm of Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe.
Goodbye, dear friends and readers.
I shall miss you all.
Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe
