Hi Rosie...
Long time lurker. I love your blog. I had to delurk to tell you that I recently discovered the same sandwich thins this past weekend & I am in LOVE with them. We had burgers as well this past weekend & they were a huge hit. With regular burger buns, I would always scrape out the "guts" of the bun so I could taste meat vs. bread. A true win-win.
I have 2 requests for future posts. Stuffed Peppers & Sloppy Joes. Interested to see your variation on 2 classics.
Keep up the great work!
Angela from WI
Angela's comment was from my Sometimes You Just Crave A Hamburger Post
where I mentioned Arnold's Whole Grain Sandwich Thins.
And the thins are really good, people.
As Mr. Hawthorne said,
"Satisfaction without the bulk."
So very true.
And Angela, I will do Sloppy Joes and Stuffed Peppers
just for you.
You'll have to wait until my peppers in the garden start producing
but I will get to work on the Sloppy Joes.
Actually, Mr. Hawthorne is better on the SJ's than I am,
but I promise you,
I'll deliver.
Oh wait, Angela.
I just thought of something.
What about a Sloppy Joe stuffed in a pepper?
MONEY, I tell ya!!!!!
Imonna kill two birds with one stone.
Rosie rubs hands maniacally and grins.
Rosie has a plan!
Thanks, Angela!
Love that plan.. cant wait to see it..
ReplyDeleteHeh, I found those thin sandwich buns yesterday at my local Wally World. After hearing you rave about them, I had to pick up a package.
ReplyDeleteI also am liking that plan.
I was intrigued by the thin sandwich buns. Arnold's brand out here in Calif is Oroweat. I googled Oroweat sandwich thins and found some blogs where people were saying they were hard to find out here. Someone said they found some in Safeway; so off I went to our local Safeway and found them with no trouble and ON SALE! I bought two packages and can't wait to try them. Thanks for the heads up on these buns, Rosie.--notmuchofacook
ReplyDeleteRosie!
ReplyDeleteMy heart just stopped at you not only responding to my post but posting my comment on your blog! I feel like an effing celebrity!!!!! YAY ME!
Can't wait for the sloppy joe/stuffed pepper blog. My sloppy joes are loved by all but are so freaking easy...and are NOT made with that craptastic Manwich in a can BS. No.
Pet the puppies for me! My Shepherd/Bloodhound mutt Weezer sends kisses your way!
