I Would Like To Thank The Academy ...

I would like to give a great big thank you to Donna,
of MyTastyTreasures blogdom,
for honoring me with these two awards:
Donna wrote:
I was awarded 2 awards from Jenn from Bread plus Butter. I LOVE Jenn, she is like the epitome of cool. Check her blog out if you haven't yet. She has wonderful wonderful food, and her writing style is incredible. I feel honored she thought enough of me to pass these along to me.
Thank you Jenn!! I am thrilled to pass these 2 awards along to

Denise, My SISTER of Keeper Worthy recipes. And no its not because her hubby is a cop and let me use his handcuffs, honestly its not.

Also Katy of Food For a Hungry Soul

Claudia of Journey of an Italian Cook

Rosie of Kitchens are Monkey Business

(OK. Emphasis mine.)

and Christina Kim of Deglaze Me.

These 5 ladies do indeed have lovely blogs and I love their blogs, and if you don't know them , I know you will love them too, go say hi.

Now, go play your own instrument with your significant other and COME together in harmony. C'mon you got the music in you!

Thank you, Donna, from the bottom of my bottomless
lil heart.
I am deeply honored and privileged to be
the recipient of these most esteemed and prestigious awards.
(And don't ask me why
my formatting and type size
is screwed up.)
I would also like to thank the Academy,
and my family -
Mr. Hawthorne,
Daughter Hawthorne,
Middle Hawthorne,
Youngest Hawthorne,
Dixie,
and
The Hawthorne Puppies - Giada, Beau, and Junior -
and a special honorable mention
goes out to Xmaskatie and Katie
(You've always had my back, Girlfriend.) and accolades to my first real internet friend, Rootie/Ticky/Kathy, (Once you get those letters past your name, come to me and we'll talk.) and thanks to my next internet friend, Orchidgal/Marilyn and she's real too, and I added that because I didn't want anybody else bitchin' at me for not including them in my sweep of tribute and indebtedness.
And, of course,
Extreme, Major Thank You's
to Mama Hawthorne.
Thank you so much for having me.
If you'd frowned instead of smiled,
I wouldn't be here today.
Without all of you,
I would be NOTHING.
NOTHING,
I tell ya!
And I want to thank all the little people
I've stepped on and scrambled over
on my frantic way to the top of the blog heap.
If it weren't for all of you,
I wouldn't be standing here tonight,
in front of my monitor,
with tears trailing down my cheeks,
my cramped fingers proudly clenched at my sides,
and an extremely hankering yen,
for blogging more and more
for my loyal readers,
... or, as Mr. Hawthorne calls it, ...
BLLLLLAHHHHHHHHGGGGGGINNNNN''''''''''''.
He makes it sound like a cat hocking up a hair ball.
I wouldn't be here,
doing what I do,
if it were not for all of you.
I accept these most auspicious, propitious, and prestigious awards
from Donna.
I am truly humbled.
I can only hope I continue
to merrily and mindlessly blog away
and offer you a vicarious taste of and insight into
my fantastic, exceptional, and freakin' marvelous lifestyle.
And yes,
you are quite welcome
for all that I give to you.
You are truly welcome.
You like me!
Oh Geeze.
Twenty four years hasn't helped her.
In fact, she's gotten worse.
Maybe I should try here.

  1. If I have to remember all the little people when I have all those high-fallutin' letters after my name, will you remember the little people when you are polishing your awards?

    Congrats my friend!

  3. Ahhh, day-um. Thought I'd at least be worthy of an honorable mention in the thank you/props section. I've always had your back, even was the badman to your madman back in the day.

  4. Mea culpa, Xmaskatie.

    Re-read please.

  5. Hey, what abut meeeeeeee? Your first live internet friend. Surely that deserves an accolade.

How 'bout it, friends of Rosie? Can you think of any reasons you should get a shout-out in her acceptance speech?

  6. I think I should get a shout out. Without Buckykatt and I, you wouldn't have anyone commenting on your great blog posts on Giada and friends.

You all have totally changed my life.
You've turned it around, like, 360 degrees!
    Yeah, heh, 360.
I thank you. I owe you. I can never repay you.

  11. Dear Rosie,

    Congrats on your awards! Whoot!

We think alike. I also thought of Sally Field's acceptance speech when I read the title.

I have letters after my name too. I swiped them from my Scrabble game, but they are all mine!! *grins*
