The Hawthornes Have Breakfast At Nags Head Pier Then Take A Stroll On Jennette's Pier.

When XKT was here last week
visiting with vacationing Brother XKT and family,
I joined them for breakfast

This is one of my favorite places for breakfast.

The views are excellent.

The service is always wonderful.

The waitresses are always delightful.

The food is always good.

And the coffee is great.

Did I mention the scenery?

 On to Jeanette's Pier.

One can buy plaques on the pier.

Brother XKT being amused by a turtle.

The fish would not stop swimming
for me to shoot a picture of them.

We went upstairs to Oceanview Hall, a 3500 square foot room
which rents for $4500 for a five-hour event.
It has a 1638 square foot covered porch
which wraps around the east and south sides.

Here, nearly 1000 feet from shore, the water is about 25 feet deep.
Big fish, such as 100 pound tarpon and cobia
or 50 pound red drum and king mackerel
may swim close to the end of the pier.

When conditions are just right
in the summer and late fall,
small Atlantic sailfish and dolphin
usually found more than twenty miles offshore in the Gulf Stream,
may surprise a lucky fisherman.

 View from 1000 feet out.

Caught this fellow taking a picture
of his buddy's citation fish.
