Comfort Food.

Every now and then, we all want comfort food. And that can be different foods to different people at different times. Some people like mashed potatoes. Some want mac and cheese. Others want ice cream. What are your favorite comfort foods? I'd like to know. I'd like to comprise a list of people's favorite comfort foods. Yesterday, I wanted me some comfort food.
So I fixed what Mama used to make me: Meat-Stuck-On-Bread.

I had a French baguette which I sliced on the diagonal.

Then I spread ground beef over top to the edges. Seasoned it with salt and pepper, a bit of Italian seasoning, and some drops of soy sauce and Lea & Perrins. Normally, I'd sprinkle some Lawry's Seasoned Pepper on it but I couldn't find it in my cabinets and I KNOW it's there, somewhere. Don't you hate it when that happens?

Pop it UNder the broiler until nicely browned.

Ohhhhhhh ... this was gooood.

I love me a grilled cheese sandwich with swiss cheese, mustard and onion and a creamy tomato soup when I am sick, or it's cold and damp outside, or I am feeling down.

When I have a cold, I need wonton soup. When I'm just too bummed for words, mac and cheese.
