Farewell, Starvesh.

Many of you know I spend time at the Sandra Lee Forum:
http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?showforum=743
I've met some lovely people here, and have made a lot of friends. It is with a heavy heart that I must bid Starvesh, formerly known and banned as Magister and again as Giner, a fond farewell from TWoP's hallowed halls.
While posting in the Sandra Lee thread, Starvesh got the dreaded "Warning" from moderator Strega, and I quote: "I have to ask you to use standard spelling in your posts. In the past few days you've used "groshry" and "slow kukker" and "koktail." I realize it's a joke, but since we ask everyone to use standard spelling & punctuation, it's not fair to give you a pass for doing it deliberately. Thanks." Now, you TWoP folks KNOW that this is something we all do. Why Starvesh got singled out for this is beyond my comprehension. Does this mean we cannot use the words "melk" and "aigs" anymore? Upon receiving this warning, Starvesh eloquently posted one last time, all the time knowing what his punishment would be for being an upstart, a rabble rouser, and the all-around trouble maker we know him to be. With Starvesh's permission, I quote from the last nail INto his TWoP coffin, which he himself nailed, in a suicidal, kamikaze-like spiral of self-induced martyrdom: "I have no doubt that posting this will get me banned, but since this is the last time I intend to log onto the site, I don't care. I got the following warning from Strega today: "
I have to ask you to use standard spelling in your posts. In the past few days you've used "groshry" and "slow kukker" and "koktail." I realize it's a joke, but since we ask everyone to use standard spelling & punctuation, it's not fair to give you a pass for doing it deliberately. Thanks.
The administration of this site is haphazard at best and utterly obnoxious at worst. I imagine this would be easier to deal with if the people doing the (seemingly random) moderation had some concept of the nature of the individual forums they lord over. They do not. Unless I'm mistaken, and I am the only person using "joke" spellings, fractured grammar, and Sandy-inspired punctuation, Strega has asked me to become the only poster here who does not adhere to the forum culture. Further, it's quite clear that the forum culture, which drives readership and ultimately creates revenue, doesn't matter to the gaggle of disinterested dorm monitors that NBC Universal is allowing to run their property into the ground. You shrikes are a great bunch, but this isn't a shrike forum, it's a Television Without Pity forum where shrikes do the work that makes other people money, but get treated like garbage (however politely in this case, with that politeness shining as an exception). The site is not fun anymore. I've lost interest in supporting it."
After reading this post, several of you shrikes, myself included, copied and pasted Starvesh's post in our replies, wishing him a fond farewell. Starvesh's post, along with all of ours, was promptly swiffered by the Goderators at TWoP. Bastards! Godspeed Starvesh. We will miss you, your wit, your humor, and your scathing insights INto the world and mind of SLop.

TWoP's mods have been like that for a long time, long before the NBC takeover. I love the place, but their reasoning can be a bit subjective at times. I'm on a few warnings now...

Your eulogy is just beautiful, dear. Starvesh, we will miss you and your wit. I remember reading old posts when I first found TWoP and some of my favorite posters were Magister, SeventhHell and Reba. I consider them to be my Shrike inspiration.

I got banned by one of the mods in March for "feeding the trolls", and I still cannot log on. Yet I've seen other people, mods included, feeding them and nothing happens. They ban people for some stupid s**t, seriously. I wish there was a way to hack into that site and delete all the posts.
