Rosie has a hankering for a ham and cheese sandwich.
This was the $9.00 ham sandwich I had
with caramelized onions and balsamic vinegar,
spinach/pecan pesto,
and the saltiest ham I've ever tasted,
on grilled white bread.
On a bare plate.
Mr. Hawthorne and I both felt sorry for it.
I felt sorry for me
since I had to eat it.
Poor little sandwich looked so lonely
on that big white plate.
Pitiful.
We had this at the Brine and Bottle a few weeks ago.
If you recall, when I was writing my review,
I went to the Brine and Bottle's website
and found MY picture on their blog within the website.
Here's the picture from my post
from the Outer Banks' Taste Of The Beach's
Grand Tasting
which I found on Brine & Bottle's site.
I wrote about it here.
I left a comment on Brine and Bottle's post on July 9,
and sent an email July 10 to RightLeftStudio,
who designed B & B's site,
asking both if they were aware
that my picture had been purloined.
No response.
Yesterday morning, July 19,
I left a phone message with RightLeftStudio.
That afternoon, I received an email
from Brooke at RightLeft Studio,
explaining that although she designed the website
she does not maintain the blog and didn't know anything about this.
She has contacted her client
and the photograph has been removed.
I thanked Brooke and told her
B & B could certainly use my photo,
just ask first, please,
and acknowledge Rosie and KitchensAreMonkeyBusiness.
Simple netiquette, folks.
And here's where it gets fun for me.
This is from the comment section on B & B's post:
- This post has been removed by a blog administrator.
I wanted rye bread, but didn't have any,
so I had the next best thing -
grilled whole wheat with caraway seeds pressed in.
And before I go any further,
I must give credit for this wonderful idea
to Mr. Hawthorne, my favorite Credit Whore.
I topped one sandwich for Daughter Hawthorne
with Pepper Jack cheese
and topped mine with Swiss cheese.
A quick trip under the broiler ...
... and give it a pickle and some chips.
A proper ham and cheese must have a pickle and chips.
Go Rosie, go! What did you say that got you "hoovered" from their comments sections? Also, meant to say that I think Dogwood has guts to be in house full of canines. She is a crack up. Your ham sandwich has me looking for that brand on the left coast. Cheers, Barbara

Are you in the habit of stealing photographs off other people's blogs to put in your own blog?

And now you copyright a photograph that isn't even yours.
The 2nd place booth photo is from my blog and was posted on March 21. You posted on March 22.

Next time, I'd appreciate it if you'd ask.
Heh. I keep copies of everything.
ReplyDeleteActually Dogmama, there was no reason for them to keep my comment there since they deleted the photo.
ReplyDeleteBut there is a way to delete my whole comment entry so that you don't see my picture or that my comment was swiffered.
And Dogwood is male. I still slip up and call him a her.
I still find it rude that they did not apologize and are inciting (me) by leaving your avatar. Not professional and not the way to do business but you're not going back anyway so I guess it's a moot point.
ReplyDeletePoor Dogwood, I always thought he was a "she". Still love his attitude with the canines though. He literally looks like he saunters past them. I love the pic of him sniffing the slice of pizza to see if it's worth his while, heh.
At least they removed your picture, but an apology would have been better.
ReplyDeleteKentucky Legend is a good ham. I always get the pre-sliced smaller hunks since we can't eat that much. Their sliced turkey breasts aren't too bad, either.
